Seem to be stout enough, the prongs could be about 6 inches wider for picking up two 3x4 grass bales at the same time. They want togo all the way through the bottom bale. Chains wern't long enough to go all the way around my loader.

I purchased the HD Bucket Hay Spear and it fit perfectly onto my JD 400x loader bucket. I unloaded 24 - 3x3x8 square bales with it and it worked great. For the price, it seems like a good value. I would recommend this to anyone who is putting this on a compact size tractor loader.

The order was delivered early and the quality of this product appears to be superior. I haven’t used it yet, but the assembly was quick. The only issue was my right turnbuckle lock was damaged in shipping and will prevent my turnbuckle from loosening. This appears to be a shipment issue. I will continue to do business with Neat Farms. After fighting with my home made spear I found this one. honestly was skeptical, but all the reviews were great for it. So I took a chance. Ordered on Monday, and it arrived at my house on Thursday. Didn't get to open it until almost dark, took maybe 15 minutes to install the first time , even with no directions its pretty self explanatory if you look at the photo. Stuck it in a bale and it works great, no problem at all attaching it to the bucket on my Kubota 3240.

I got the spears and put them on. It looks like they will work just fine. I was able to lift my big alfalfa bales just fine. I thought my 25HP tractor might have a little problem with them but the spears work great even with a small tractor.I kind of wish I had bought the 44 inch but the 34 do the job. Thanks for your great product. This will save me a ton of work.
